چکیده

Municipal solid waste incineration fly ash (MSWI FA) consists predominantly of compounds comprising elements such as calcium, aluminum, silicon, sodium, and others. Additionally, it encompasses a complex mixture heavy metals, chlorides, sulfates, organic pollutants, other constituents. The effective economically viable treatment MSWI FA poses formidable challenge for resource cycling at the current stage. In this research report, we adopt novel low-temperature sintering method called “Cold Sintering Process” (CSP) means to immobilize metals within ash. By utilizing Taguchi orthogonal array method, will adjust five control factors in CSP, including temperature, uniaxial pressure, time, initial water addition, sodium carbonate dosage. leaching cadmium from ash, measured by Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure (TCLP), serve quality indicator products. Through application was transformed into structurally stable ceramic blocks, blocks were effectively immobilized. results experiments showed that under conditions temperature 300 °C, pressure 312 MPa, time 60 min, 25 wt% 9 Na2CO3 addition could reduce 77.71%, lead 21.14%, zinc 42.37%, chromium 99.99%, compared original TCLP results. X-ray Diffraction (XRD) indicate during forms phases calcium silicate, rankinite, hydrogrossular, anorthite, marilite. These phase transformations are considered beneficial preventing internal metals. Scanning Electron Microscopy-Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (SEM-EDS) reveal CSP is advantageous compacting overall structure, EDS further demonstrate some Pb Zn carried out interior with uneven distribution on surface particles. aforementioned experimental preliminary indications CSP’s capability stabilize detrimental components high-purity Future endeavors may entail refinement material proportions, modification parameters, methodologies, thus facilitating potential scalability industrial applications. Such developments align overarching goal utilization.

Phosphorus recovery from municipal solid waste incineration fly ash.

The potential of phosphorus (P) recycling from municipal solid waste incineration (MSWI) residue is investigated. Vast and ever increasing amounts of incineration residues are produced worldwide; these are an environmental burden, but also a resource, as they are a major sink for the material flows of society. Due to strict environmental regulations, in combination with decreasing landfilling s...

Leachability of Heavy Metals from Lightweight Aggregates Made with Sewage Sludge and Municipal Solid Waste Incineration Fly Ash

Lightweight aggregate (LWA) production with sewage sludge and municipal solid waste incineration (MSWI) fly ash is an effective approach for waste disposal. This study investigated the stability of heavy metals in LWA made from sewage sludge and MSWI fly ash. Leaching tests were conducted to find out the effects of MSWI fly ash/sewage sludge (MSWI FA/SS) ratio, sintering temperature and sinteri...

Distribution of Chloride in Municipal Solid Waste Incineration Bottom Ash

Chloride content is a critical problem for the reuse of incineration bottom ash as raw material in cement. The effect of dechlorination procedure largely depends on the existence form of the chlorides. However, limited information about the distribution and identity of chlorides in bottom ash can be obtained by bulk analysis methods. In this paper, the investigation towards a more comprehensive...

Speciation of copper in the incineration fly ash of a municipal solid waste.

The speciation of copper and zinc in the incineration fly ash of a municipal solid waste in Taiwan was investigated in the present work. By the least-squares fitted X-ray absorption near edge structural (XANES) spectroscopy, we found that CuCO3, CuOH2, and CuO (fractions of 0.09, 0.39 and 0.51, respectively) were the main copper species in the fly ash. Quantitative analysis of the extended X-ra...

Rice Husk Ash to Stabilize Heavy Metals Contained in Municipal Solid Waste Incineration Fly Ash: First Results by Applying New Pre-treatment Technology

A new technology was recently developed for municipal solid waste incineration (MSWI) fly ash stabilization, based on the employment of all waste and byproduct materials. In particular, the proposed method is based on the use of amorphous silica contained in rice husk ash (RHA), an agricultural byproduct material (COSMOS-RICE project). The obtained final inert can be applied in several applicat...
